Introduction of fiber demister :

The fiber demister also known as a fiber mist eliminator or fiber bed filter, is a device used to remove fine liquid droplets or mist from a gas stream. It plays a crucial role in separating entrained liquids from process gases in a variety of industries. 

The fiber demister consists of two concentric screens or parallel flat screens filled with compressed fiber pads.

Fiber demister are individually designed and manufactured with enclosures made of a variety of alloys, thermoformed plastics or fiberglass reinforced plastics. 

 Key characteristics and features of fiber demisters:

 High Efficiency:

 Fiber demisters can achieve very high removal efficiencies, typically greater than 99% for droplets down to 1-2 microns in size.

 The efficiency is dependent on factors like fiber diameter, bed depth, and gas velocity.

 Low Pressure Drop:

 The open, porous structure of the fiber bed results in a relatively low pressure drop across the demister.

 This helps minimize the energy required to move the gas stream through the system.

Features of fiber demister :

Reduce or eliminate visible chimney plume.

Design capacity can be adjusted without limitation.

Ensure that the pressure drop is less than 40 mm (1.5 ") W.G.

Interchangeable with existing fiber pad equipment.

Capture submicron particles with a diameter of 0.1 micron or less.

Applications of fiber demister :

Power Generation:

In power plants, fiber demisters are used to remove water droplets from the exhaust gas streams, preventing corrosion and erosion of    downstream equipment.

They are commonly found in flue gas desulfurization (FGD) systems and in turbine inlet air filtration.

Chemical and Petrochemical Processing:

Fiber demisters play a critical role in separating valuable process liquids from waste gas streams in refineries, chemical plants, and  petrochemical facilities.

Structure of fiber demister :

The typical fiber demister is composed of tubular fiber bed element (size is customized according to the working condition), bracket, flange, outer cover pressure vessel and other components.
